Nutrition Challenges and Interventions for PD

Presenter: Deborah Degree BSN, RN

Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) patients face unique nutritional challenges. This course will discuss the unique contributors to protein energy wasting (PEW) in PD patients. It will also describe the markers of visceral and somatic protein stores as mortality predictors in PD. The course will conclude with a review of different nutrition interventions, including intraperitoneal nutrition (IPN), and their impact on clinical outcomes.
